FAQ

MY PHILOSOPHY

I believe that all individuals are capable of change and growth. My primary focus as a therapist is symptom reduction and increased day-to-day functioning. I assist individuals to achieve better awareness of themselves by being able to articulate how thoughts and feelings relate to behavior.

MY COMMITMENTS

I am committed to dismantling and abolishing the racist and oppressive systems I work within and beside. As a social worker and white woman, it is critical that I confront the role of systemic racism and oppression within my profession and myself. I stand in solidarity with BLM, and am involved in community efforts to build mutual aid and distribute resources.

MY EDUCATION AND TRAINING

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Michigan and a Master of Social Work from Columbia School of Social Work.

My experience is wide-ranging both in setting and with diagnoses. I have training in motivational interviewing, behavioral activation, CBT, and DBT, and completed a 30-week post-graduate course in family systems theory and technique at the Ackerman Institute for the Family.

WHAT MODALITIES DO YOU USE?

I use an eclectic approach, which means I draw from multiple modalities to tailor treatment to your specific needs. In session, we will explore your motivation for participation in therapy, and help to summarize goals and objectives to target therapeutically. In addition to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, my practice is informed by Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, as well as insight-oriented. My approach is trauma-focused and to help individuals secure a higher quality of life through increased self-determination. Ultimately, I aim to assist individuals in the collection of tools and insight, allowing for functioning without therapeutic support.

WHO DO YOU WORK WITH?

I work with all people above the age of 12, both individually and within families. To determine if we are a good fit, I offer a phone consultation to overview my approach and better understand your needs.

HOW LONG IS A SESSION?

Sessions are 50 minutes.

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

I accept Cigna, United Healthcare, Oxford Health Plans, Optum, Aetna, UMR, Oscar, UHC Student Resources, Harvard Pilgram

Out-of-pocket cost is $150 for individual sessions and $200 for couple’s counseling.

HOW DO I CONTACT YOU?

Please contact me via text or email. Consults are free to see if we are a good fit for one another. During a consult, I will ask what you are seeking to gain through therapy and orient you towards my therapeutic approach.
